覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
eight が「8」、-ty が「〜十」で、eighty はそのまま「8×10」の形だと押さえると忘れにくいです。まず twenty, thirty, forty などの並びに置いて、「下一桁の数詞 + -ty で十の位を作る」型として覚えるのが近道。特に eighteen（18）と混同しやすいので、「-teen は10代、-ty は〜十」と対比すると整理しやすいです。年齢なら in his eighties、数なら eighty dollars / page eighty のような場面で見かけます。
Think of `eight` + `-ty`. In number words, `-ty` makes the tens: twenty, thirty, forty, so `eighty` is easy to place in that pattern. Keep it separate from `eighteen`: `-teen` is 13-19, but `-ty` is 20, 30, 40 and so on.
