まず語尾の -ology を見たら、biology・zoology・geology と同じ「〜学」だと反応する。意味の土台はここで固める。残る entomo- は単独では取りにくいので、「昆虫を集める、分類する、観察する、行動や生態を記録する学問」という具体的な研究場面ごと覚えると残りやすい。蝶や甲虫の標本、野外で虫を観察する研究者の映像と結びつけると定着しやすい。なお etymology（語源学）とつづりがかなり紛らわしいので、entomology は insect の世界、etymology は word の世界と対比して区別すると混同しにくい。
The ending `-ology` tells you this is a field of study, like `biology` or `geology`. The hard part is `entomo-`, so remember the whole word through the image of scientists collecting and studying insects.
