解説 Definition
河川や流水の働きに関することを表す形容詞。地理学・地質学では、川の流れによって生じる侵食、運搬、堆積、地形形成などを説明するときに使われる。fluvial deposits は「河川堆積物」、fluvial erosion は「河川浸食」の意。
Fluvial means related to rivers or to the action of flowing water. It is mostly used in geography and geology to describe landforms, sediments, or processes created by rivers.
