まず語尾の -cide を見たら「殺す系」と反応できるようにすると覚えやすいです。suicide, insecticide と同じ型で、fungi- は fungus「菌」。つまり fungicide は形のまま「菌を殺すもの」と読めます。特に plant disease や crop protection の文脈で出やすく、herbicide（除草剤）や pesticide（農薬全般）と並べて整理すると混同しにくいです。
