社会学、とくにブルデューの理論で、社会的環境の中で身についたものの見方・感じ方・行動の傾向の体系を指します。文化資本そのものではなく、経験を通じて身体化された持続的な性向の集合です。
Habitus is a person's deeply learned way of thinking, behaving, and reacting, shaped by their social background and life experience. It is often used in sociology when talking about class, culture, and everyday habits. This is an academic word with a broad and abstract meaning.

habitus は habit「習慣」に似ていますが、一つの癖ではなく、育った家庭・階級・教育を通じて身体に染み込んだ「感じ方、選び方、振る舞い方の一式」です。たとえば同じ店や芸術作品を前にしても、何を自然、上品、場違いと感じるかが無意識に分かれる場面を思い浮かべると定着します。ブルデューの文脈では、所有する知識や資格という文化資本そのものではなく、それらをどう評価し使うかを方向づける持続的な性向です。class-shaped habitus、habitus affects preferences の形で押さえると混同しにくいです。
Start from `habit`. `Habitus` sounds similar, but it means more than one small habit. Remember the contrast: `habit` is one repeated action, while `habitus` is a whole pattern of tastes, behavior, and judgment shaped over time.
