leotard は19世紀フランスの曲芸師 Jules Leotard の姓から来た人名語源の語です。接頭辞や接尾辞に分ける語ではありませんが、空中ブランコ向きの体に密着する衣装がそのまま名になり、派生語 unitard にも同じ発想が残ります。
