Mineralisation is the process in which minerals are formed, added, or built up in a substance. The word is used in fields such as geology, biology, and dentistry, depending on what is becoming mineralized.

mineral「鉱物・ミネラル」が見えれば核はつかめます。さらに -isation は modernisation, standardisation のように「〜化・〜すること」という名詞化パターン。つまり mineralisation は直感的に「鉱物化」。 fossil mineralisation, soil mineralisation のように、有機物や成分が鉱物として固定・変化していく場面で出やすい語です。単に harden「固くなる」より、成分レベルで鉱物に置き換わる感じを結びつけると残りやすいです。
