ラテン語の pro-「先へ」と cras「明日」を手掛かりに、今日の課題を明日へ送る姿を思い浮かべましょう。procrastinate の語末の e を落として -ing を付けます。
Use Latin pro- meaning forward and cras meaning tomorrow as a memory cue: picture sending today's task forward to tomorrow. Drop the final e of procrastinate and add -ing.

procrastinating の語源・成り立ち Etymology
ラテン語 procrastinare から。pro-(前へ、先へ)+ crastinus(明日の、cras=明日)の合成で「明日へ回す」が原義。関連語に crastination がある。文字通り「明日に送る」という構造が、先延ばしの本質を見事に表している。
Procrastinating is the -ing form of procrastinate, from Latin procrastinare, “to put off until tomorrow.” That verb was formed with pro-, conveying forward movement, and crastinus, “belonging to tomorrow,” from cras, “tomorrow.” The structure closely reflects the modern idea of moving today’s duty into the future. In forming the English -ing form, the final silent e of procrastinate is removed before the suffix is added.
