Reevaluation is the process of examining or judging something again. It is used when people want to check a decision, value, condition, or opinion more carefully. This often happens after new information appears.

reevaluation は re-「再び」+ evaluation「評価」から成り、evaluate は value 由来の語です。value はラテン語 valere「価値がある・強い」にさかのぼり、valid や valor も同系統なので、「価値を改めて見積もる」と考えると意味が見えます。
Reevaluation combines re- meaning "again" with evaluation. Evaluate comes from value, which goes back to Latin valere, meaning "to be strong" or "to be worth."
