解説 Definition
table の現在分詞・動名詞形。会議や議会で議案や動議を提出することを表し、特にイギリス英語でよく使われる。一方、アメリカ英語では議題をいったん審議から外し、後回しにする、つまり棚上げする意味で使われることもある。
Tabling means officially putting a plan, idea, or proposal forward for discussion in a meeting. In American English, however, it can also mean delaying discussion until later. Because the meaning changes by region, it is useful to check the context carefully.
