解説 Definition
テレメトリとは、遠隔地にある機器や施設の状態を自動的に測定する技術である。測定結果は通信回線を通じて離れた管理拠点へ送られ、現地に行かずとも状況を把握できる。宇宙機や人工衛星、気象観測装置などで用いられ、故障の兆候や性能の推移を追跡するのに役立つ。
Telemetry is the process of collecting information from a distant place and sending it electronically to another place. It is often used in science, medicine, engineering, vehicles, and space technology. The information is usually measurements such as speed, temperature, or performance.
