blinkered は blinker「馬の目隠し」に -ed が付いた形で、blinker は blink「まばたきする・ちらつく」からできた語です。馬が横を見えないようにする道具から、「一方向しか見えず考えが狭い」という比喩的な意味が生まれました。関連語は blink, blinder。
