Christology is the area of Christian theology that studies who Jesus Christ is and what his nature and role mean. It often deals with questions about his humanity, divinity, and purpose. The word is mainly used in religious and academic discussions.

The ending `-logy` means `the study of`, as in `biology` or `theology`. Add `Christ`, and you get the study of Christ. It is narrower than `theology`, so remember it as one focused branch inside a bigger religious subject.
