Memory Tip
最重要の型は call dibs on A で「Aは自分が先にもらうと宣言する」。 I call dibs on the front seat!
Imagine seeing the best seat and immediately shouting, “I want that one first!” The key pattern is call dibs on something, while have dibs on something means that the claim has already been made. It describes a casual claim, not formal legal ownership.

Etymology
Dibs developed as American slang. It has been linked to children's game pieces called dibstones and the practice of claiming something first.
