小腸の最初の部分で、胃から排出された食べ物が膵液と胆汁と混合される場所。消化と栄養吸収が本格的に進む重要な器官である。
The duodenum is the first part of the small intestine, just after the stomach. Food passes into it after leaving the stomach, and digestion continues there. This is mainly a medical or biology word.
