製品・人物・計画などを公に良いと認め、支持や推薦を表明する人を指す語。広告で商品を勧める有名人や、選挙で候補者への支持を表明する人物などに使われ、企業や団体が信頼性や注目度を高めるために起用する場合も多い。
An endorser is a person or organization that publicly supports, approves of, or recommends something. The word is common in advertising, business, politics, and formal agreements. In some financial contexts, it can also mean someone who signs a document to transfer or support it.

endorser は endorse（支持する・推薦する）する人。まず `endorse → endorser → endorsement` を3点セットで覚えると定着しやすいです。`-er` は「その動作をする人」なので、意味はほぼそのまま取れます。使う場面は広告・政治・企画発表が典型で、`a celebrity endorser` や `endorse a candidate` の形が頻出。単に好きな人ではなく、自分の名前や信用を出して公に後押しする人、というニュアンスを押さえると `supporter` との違いも見えます。
`Endorser` is simply `endorse` + `-er`, the person who gives support. Think of someone adding their name, reputation, or approval to help another person, idea, or product. That makes it stronger than just `liking` something: an endorser publicly backs it.

endorser は endorse + -er。endorse は古フランス語 endosser を経てラテン語 dorsum「背・裏」にさかのぼり、核は dors-「背」です。もとは文書の裏に書く人で、そこから裏書人、支持者・推薦者へ広がり、dorsal や endorsement も同根です。
Endorser comes from endorse + -er. Endorse goes back through Old French endosser to Latin dorsum, meaning "back," because it first referred to writing on the back of a document. From that physical act, the meaning expanded to signing in approval or support, so an endorser became a person who backs or recommends something; compare endorsement and dorsal.
