eurythmics の語源・成り立ち Etymology
eurythmicsはギリシャ語eu-「良い」+ rhythmos「律動・リズム」から来た語です。直訳すると「よいリズムの技法」で、音を聞くだけでなく身体の動きで拍や流れを整えて学ぶ意味が腑に落ちます。euphonyやrhythmも近い仲間です。
"Eurythmics" comes from Greek "eu-," meaning "good," and "rhythmos," meaning "rhythm" or "measured movement." Its original idea was "the art of good rhythm."
