Satiation is the state of being fully satisfied, especially after eating enough food. It can also mean a point where a need or desire has been filled so much that no more is wanted. The word is common in formal, scientific, or psychological contexts.

satisfy を知っていれば覚えやすい語です。sati- の並びを見たら「十分に満たされる」方向を連想すると定着しやすく、satiation は food だけでなく appetite や desire が「もう要らない」と感じる段階まで満たされた状態を指します。満足一般の satisfaction より「欲求がおさまる」感じが強く、物理的に満ちる saturation とは別物。satiety も近い仲間で、a feeling of satiation, reach satiation の形で覚えると使いどころが見えます。
