glossary は「ある分野の重要語を、説明つきでまとめた一覧」として覚えると定着しやすいです。dictionary が一般語の辞書なのに対し、glossary は医療・法律・IT など特定分野にしぼった用語集。index のような単なる索引ではなく、語の意味説明が付くことが多い点も区別ポイントです。語尾の -ary は「集めたもの・まとまり」に出やすいので、vocabulary や dictionary と同じく“参照用のまとまり”を連想するとよいです。教科書や論文の末尾で a glossary of terms, see the glossary の形でよく見ます。
