go は「話し手から離れていく」動きなので、今いる外出先から家へ向かう感覚で go home。home はここでは「家へ」という副詞っぽく働くので、go to home にはしない点が重要です。自分が家に着く場面だけでなく、相手に「もう帰る」「家に帰りなさい」と言う場面でもよく使います。似た表現の come home は、話し手が家側にいて「帰ってくる」視点になるので、視点の違いでセットで覚えると定着しやすいです。
Think of `go` as movement away from where you are now, so `go home` means moving toward home from somewhere else. The key point is that we say `go home`, not `go to home`. Learn it with `come home`, which uses a different point of view.
