consider「よく考える」を知っていれば覚えやすい語です。considerate は「相手の立場まで考えられる→思いやりのある」、そこに否定の接頭辞 in- が付いて inconsiderate で「相手のことを考えない→思いやりのない」。rude が失礼な態度そのものを指しやすいのに対し、inconsiderate は相手の都合・気持ちへの配慮不足が中心。an inconsiderate remark, an inconsiderate neighbor のように、人や言動への不満でよく出ます。

inconsiderate は in-「否定」+ considerate で、consider はラテン語 considerare に由来する。con-「共に」+ sidus「星」が背景にあり、consider や sidereal と同根なので、「よく考えない」から「思いやりがない」へつながる。
Inconsiderate adds in- 'not' to considerate. Consider comes from Latin considerare, which originally had the sense of examining carefully, possibly linked to sidus 'star,' as if looking closely at the stars. From 'not thinking carefully,' the word developed into 'not showing thought for other people'; consider and sidereal are related at a deeper level.
