解説 Definition
marxismとは、カール・マルクスとフリードリヒ・エンゲルスが提唱した政治・経済思想体系を指す名詞です。資本主義の矛盾を批判し、労働者階級による革命を通じて平等な社会を実現することを目指します。20世紀の多くの社会主義・共産主義運動の理論的基盤となりました。
A political and economic theory based on the ideas of Karl Marx. It explains society through class struggle and says that wealth and power are unfairly controlled by the ruling class. The term is often used in discussions of politics, history, and social systems.

まず語尾の -ism を見たら「主義・思想」の仲間だと押さえると記憶しやすいです。capitalism, socialism, feminism などと同じ並びで覚えると定着します。Marxism はその中でも、資本主義への批判、階級、労働者、革命と結びついて出やすい語。Marxist は「その立場の人・考え方」、Marxism は「思想体系」そのもの。communism と近い文脈で出ますが、Marxism は理論寄りの語として読むと整理しやすいです。
