減数分裂とは、親の細胞が分裂して生殖細胞（卵子と精子）を作る過程。通常の細胞分裂の半分の染色体を持つ細胞が作られる。
Meiosis is the process of cell division that produces sex cells and cuts the number of chromosomes in half. It is an important term in biology, genetics, and reproduction. It is different from mitosis, which makes normal body cells.
