micellar は micelle（ミセル）+ -ar で、「ミセルに関する」の意です。micelle は新ラテン語 micella、さらにラテン語 mica「小片・パンくず」に由来し、細かな粒が集まる像がそのまま意味に残っています。mica も同根です。
Micellar comes from micelle plus the adjective ending -ar, so it means "related to a micelle." Micelle comes from New Latin micella, based on Latin mica, meaning "crumb" or "small bit." The idea is of tiny particles grouped together, and mica is from the same root.
