覚え方のコツ
mis- は mistake や misunderstand と同じく「誤って」。construe は少し難しいですが、context から意味を組み立てて理解する感じの語です。つまり misconstrue は「組み立て方を誤る」→「誤解する」。ただの misunderstand より、発言・意図・態度を読み違える場面でやや硬めに使われます。be misconstrued as ... の形で「…と誤解される」も頻出。misinterpret と近いですが、misconstrue は相手の言葉や行動の意味づけ自体を取り違える響きがあります。
