Nestorian は 5世紀の神学者 Nestorius の名に、〜派を表す -an が付いた語。語源そのものが「ネストリウスに属する人」で、教義内容より先に人物名がラベル化したと分かる。Nestorianism や anti-Nestorian に同じ名残がある。
