Perfusion is the flow of blood, or sometimes another fluid, through the tissues or organs of the body. It is a technical medical word often used when talking about how well the heart and blood vessels are working. Good perfusion means the body part is receiving enough blood and oxygen.

perfusion の語源・成り立ち Etymology
perfusion はラテン語 perfusio に由来し、per-「通して」+ fundere「注ぐ」から成ります。血液や液体を組織へ流し込む語感がそのまま「灌流」につながります。infuse や profuse も同じ fundere 系で、「注ぐ」感覚で覚えられます。
Perfusion comes from Latin perfusio, built from per- "through" and fundere "to pour." The original image is of liquid being poured through something. In modern use, that developed into the idea of fluid, especially blood, flowing into and through tissue; related words include infuse and profuse.
