poetically は poetic に副詞語尾 -ally が付いた語で、poetic はギリシャ語 poiein「作る」から来た poiētikos にさかのぼります。poem や poet も同根で、詩的とは単に美しいのでなく「言葉を作り上げる」働きそのものだと見えてきます。
