分子に電子や水素を与える還元反応を触媒する酵素の総称。代謝経路の中で物質の変換を進める重要な役割を担い、脂質代謝や解毒、エネルギー産生など多くの生化学反応に関与する。
A reductase is an enzyme that helps a chemical reduction happen in the body or in living cells. In simple terms, it takes part in reactions where one substance gains electrons or loses oxygen. This is mainly a scientific and medical term.
