reformism は reform「作り直す」+ -ism「主義」。reform はラテン語 re-「再び」+ formare「形づくる」で、壊す革命ではなく「形を整え直して良くする」発想が核です。form や transform も同じ語根。
Reformism comes from reform + -ism. Reform goes back to Latin re- "again" and formare "to shape," so its basic idea is not destroying things but shaping them again in a better way.
