revisionism は revision + -ism から成り、revision はラテン語 revisio、さらに re-「再び」+ videre「見る」に由来します。つまり「もう一度見直す立場」で、歴史解釈や方針を再検討し修正しようとする思想。vision も同じ videre 系です。
Revisionism is built from revision and the suffix -ism. Revision comes from Latin revisio, from re- "again" and videre "to see," a root also found in vision and review. The word first carried the idea of looking again, then developed into the view that accepted ideas, policies, or histories should be reexamined and changed.
