tact の語源・成り立ち Etymology
ラテン語の「触れる」tangereを語源とするtactus（触覚・感知）から派生しました。人や状況を「手探りで的確に触れる」感覚が転じ、相手の感情を損なわずに適切に扱う「機転や気配り」の意になりました。同語根tact-を持つ単語にcontact（接触）やtactile（触覚の）があります。
