解説 Definition
人や物を元いた場所や元の状態へ戻す、または失ったものを再び自分のものにすることを表す。人を家へ連れ戻す場合にも、主導権や領土などを奪い返す場合にも使われる。

To take back something means to say that you no longer mean what you said, or to admit that it was wrong. It can also mean to get something back into your possession. In spoken English, it is very often used for words, promises, or statements.
