uncharted の語源・成り立ち Etymology
uncharted は un-「ない」+ charted「地図に載せられた」。chart はギリシャ語 khartes「紙・地図」→ラテン語 charta →古フランス語を経た語で、chart や charter と同根。『地図化されていない』から、未知で踏査されていないという意味になる。
