順位表や評価一覧に入っていない状態を表す形容詞。大会、チーム、楽曲、商品などがランキングの対象外である場合や、まだ順位が付いていない場合に使われ、日本語では「ランク外の」という意味で自然に訳される。
Unranked means not placed in an official order or list of positions. It is often used in sports, schools, games, or competitions when someone or something does not have a ranking. It can also suggest that the position has not been decided yet.

まず ranked を「順位が付いた」と押さえると、un- が付いた unranked はそのまま「順位なし・ランク外」と取りやすくなります。low-ranked が「低い順位はある」のに対し、unranked は順位表に入っていない感じ。スポーツなら an unranked team、大学なら unranked schools のように使われ、top-ranked と対比すると記憶しやすいです。「弱い」と決めつける語ではなく、単に順位付けされていないだけという点に注意。
Think of `ranked` first: it means given a place in an order or list. Add `un-`, and the idea becomes "not placed on the ranking." This is easier to remember if you contrast it with `top-ranked` or `low-ranked`, which still have a rank.
