国の内陸部、または海岸や主要都市から離れた奥地を指します。都市部・沿岸部から見て、国内の奥へ入った地方という感覚で使われます。
Upcountry means the inland part of a country, especially an area away from the coast, a major city, or the capital. It is often used in travel, geography, or regional descriptions. In some varieties of English, it can also suggest higher land farther from the sea.
