解説 Definition
貧血とは、赤血球またはヘモグロビンの量が正常より少ない血液の状態です。疲労、めまい、息切れなどの症状を引き起こします。

anemia はギリシャ語 an-「ない」+ haima「血」から来た医学語です。hematology や hemorrhage の hema-/hemo- と同根で、「血が足りない状態」と見えるので、貧血の意味が語の形にそのまま刻まれています。
