aunt は、自分の親の姉妹、または親の兄弟の妻にあたる女性の親族を指す名詞です。英語では年上か年下かを区別しませんが、日本語では文脈に応じて「伯母」「叔母」と書き分けることがあり、ふつうは「おば」と言います。
