相手をほめたり機嫌を取ったりしながら、望む行動をさせようとすることを表す語。命令や強制ではなく、甘い言葉や巧みな言い回しでその気にさせ、承諾や協力を引き出す含みを持つ。
Cajoling means trying to persuade someone by being very friendly, flattering, or gently persistent. It is often used when a person is pushing someone to agree without using direct force.
