To crystallise means to form into crystals, or to become clear and fixed in shape or form. It can be used in science for physical substances and in general English for ideas, plans, or feelings that become more definite.

ギリシャ語 krystallos「氷・水晶」がラテン語 crystallum、さらにフランス語経由で英語 crystal となり、そこに動詞化の -ise が付いた語です。crystall- は「透明で硬く固まるもの」の核を持ち、crystal や crystalline と同根なので、「結晶の形に固まる」がそのまま意味です。
Crystallise comes from crystal plus the verb ending -ise. Crystal goes back through Latin and French to Greek krystallos, which meant ice and later rock crystal.
