Dialling means entering a phone number to make a call, usually by pressing numbers on a phone or device. It is commonly used when talking about telephones, mobile phones, and communication systems. This spelling is mainly British English; American English usually uses "dialing."

dialling は dial「文字盤を回す・番号を合わせる」に -ing が付いた形です。dial はもと日時計の盤を指し、ラテン語 dies「日」にさかのぼるので、daily や diary と同根。電話の dial も、もとは「時を示す盤」を回す感覚の延長です。
Dialling comes from dial + -ling/-ing. Dial originally meant the face of a sundial and goes back to Latin dies, meaning "day," which also gave English words like daily and diary. The meaning later shifted from a time-marking plate to the numbered plate on a telephone, and then to the act of turning it to call someone.
