disembodied は dis-「切り離して」+ embodied「身体を与えられた」から成る語で、embody は em-/en-「中へ」+ body に由来します。ラテン語系の dis- が「身体から離す」感じを加えるので、「実体のない」という意味に自然につながります。関連語は embody, embodiment。
Disembodied combines dis- with embodied. Embody means "give bodily form to," from en- "in, into" and body. Adding dis- created the sense of being separated from a body, and from there the word came to describe something without physical form. It is related to embody and embodiment.
