Memory Tip
Remember this as stronger than simple `teach`. `Inculcate` is often used for values, habits, or discipline that are repeated again and again until they stick. Think of parents or teachers trying to inculcate respect, honesty, or good habits.

Etymology
From Latin inculcare, formed from in- "into" and calcare "to tread, press with the heel." The original image is of stamping something firmly in. From that sense, it came to mean pressing an idea strongly into someone's mind through repeated teaching.
