解説 Definition
An introducer is a person who presents one person to another or helps people become acquainted. The word can also be used for someone who brings in a new idea, product, or system. It is more formal and less common than simple words like presenter or host.
Memory Tip
`introduce A to B` は「AをBに紹介する/導入する」で、そこに「〜する人」の `-er` が付けば introducer。
Build it from `introduce` + `-er`. An `introducer` is the person who brings someone or something into the situation. Think of a person connecting two strangers, not a `host` or `presenter` who mainly runs the event.

Etymology
introduce に -er が付いた語で、introduce はラテン語 introducere(intro-「中へ」+ ducere「導く」)にさかのぼります。
Introducer comes from introduce plus the agent ending -er. Introduce goes back to Latin introducere, from intro- meaning "within" and ducere meaning "to lead." So the original idea was "someone who leads a person in," which later became someone who presents one person to another; related words include conduct and deduce.
