張力または浸透圧が等しい状態を表します。筋肉学では張力が一定に保たれながら筋長が変わる収縮形式を、溶液では周囲と同じ浸透圧を持つ状態を指します。
Isotonic describes a liquid that has the same pressure or concentration as another liquid, especially body fluids. It is often used in medicine, biology, and sports drinks to talk about solutions that do not cause cells to shrink or swell. In exercise, the word can also describe movements where muscles change length while working.
