Kazak は、Kazakh の比較的まれな異綴りとして、カザフ人・カザフ語、またはカザフに関係するものを表します。別の名詞として、南コーカサスの町・織物産地 Kazak に名を由来する、鮮やかな色や幾何学模様を特徴とするオリエンタル絨毯も指します。この絨毯義は中央アジアのカザフ人とは別です。
Kazak is a less common spelling of Kazakh, referring to a Kazakh person, the Kazakh language, or something associated with the Kazakhs. As a separate noun, it also denotes an Oriental rug characterized by bold colors and geometric or stylized designs. The rug name comes from a town and weaving district in the southern Caucasus and is not a reference to the Kazakh people of Central Asia.

In the ethnic and language sense, Kazak is a spelling variant of Kazakh and ultimately reflects Turkic qazaq. The rug sense has a separate naming history: it comes from Kazak, a town and weaving district in the southern Caucasus, now in Azerbaijan. The Caucasian rug term should therefore not be interpreted as a reference to the Kazakh people of Central Asia.
