細胞分裂の段階において、染色体が細胞の両極に移動する時期。有糸分裂における4段階の3番目にあたり、紡錘体によって姉妹染色分体が分離し両極へ移動する。
An anaphase is a stage of cell division when chromosomes separate and move toward opposite sides of the cell. It is a technical biology term used when describing mitosis or meiosis.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
まず phase が「段階」だと分かれば、anaphase は細胞分裂の“ある段階名”として整理しやすいです。覚える軸は並び順で、prophase → metaphase → anaphase → telophase の3番目。特に metaphase では染色体が中央に並び、その次の anaphase では chromatids が apart に引き離されて両極へ動く、と流れで覚えると定着します。meta までは“並ぶ”、ana で“離れる”という対比を意識すると混同しにくいです。

anaphase の語源・成り立ち Etymology
anaphaseはギリシャ語ana-「上へ・後ろへ・分けて」とphasis「現れ方・段階」からできた語です。染色体が両極へ引き離され、動きがはっきり“現れる段階”なので後期を指し、phaseやphenomenonと同じ語根だと骨格が見えます。
Anaphase is built from Greek ana- and a form related to phasis, meaning an appearance or stage. The word was formed for the stage where movement becomes clearly visible as chromosomes separate and move apart. It belongs to the same family as phase, and more distantly relates to words like phenomenon.
