医学語 lymphocytic は lymphocyte「リンパ球」+ -ic「〜の性質の」から成ります。lymph はラテン語 lympha「清水」、-cyte はギリシャ語 kytos「容器・細胞」で、cytology と同根。つまり「リンパの中の細胞に関する」が原義です。
