ビリヤードで、キューを立て気味にして手球に強い回転を与え、進路を大きく曲げるショットや打法を指す。障害球を避けたり、通常の直線的な軌道では狙えない位置を攻めたりするときに使われる、高度な技術を要する特殊な一打である。
A masse is a special shot in billiards or pool in which the player hits the cue ball so it curves sharply. This is done by striking the ball at a steep angle with spin. The word is technical and mainly used in cue sports.
