準安定

より低いエネルギーの安定状態が存在するものの、局所的なエネルギー極小にあるため小さな揺らぎには安定で、より安定な状態への遷移にはエネルギー障壁を越える必要がある物理的状態。
Metastable means temporarily stable but able to change into a more stable state. A metastable thing may stay unchanged for some time unless it is disturbed. This word is often used in physics, chemistry, and engineering.
